Freelance Creative Director (Dallas, TX)   August 2016 – Present

 

  • Developing a marketing strategy for Robin Robotic Lawn Service, including writing and producing a web video series that Robin used in their appearance and presentation on ABC’s entrepreneurial investment show, Shark Tank.

 

  • Working with Damage, an eSports agency, to create work for clients such as AMD, ASUS, and Ubisoft. Working with gaming influencers, I have created new media campaigns for Snapchat, Twitch, TikTok and Reddit.

  • Launched RealPage's Asset & Investment Management product.

  • Created and developed campaigns for a variety of other agencies and clients  including Jacobson Rost (Chicago), OH Partners (Phoenix) and Targetbase (Irving).

Augustine Agency (Irving, TX)  March 2017 – March 2018

  • Led all creative for the Texas office of Sacramento-based advertising and branding firm Augustine Agency.

 

  • Created and developed a new brand identity and voice for Visit Granbury, helping the town transform itself from one that was seemingly stuck in the past to a vibrant, fully restored locale focused on the future.

 

  • Developed the identity of Wilsonart’s latest offering, New Leaf Performance Veneers, establishing them as the new standard in wood veneers.

 

  • Helped the shopper marketing and foodservice divisionsof Avocados From Mexico further their position as the #1 marketer of avocados in the U.S.

 

Golin  (Dallas, TX)   August 2015 – August 2016

  • Led and managed a 12-person department of writers and designers in the creation of imaginative ideas across social, digital and traditional platforms for a variety of clients including Adobe, , Symantec, PetSmart and Vizient Health Care Services.

 

  • Led creative for the agency new business team that won pitches for business with Adobe Brand, Adobe Creative Cloud and Frontera Wines.

 

  • Worked with The Bridge, Golin’s connected network of newsrooms, to curate and create social content in real-time and drive relevance for clients.

 

  • Helped hone and define social brand voice for clients including Adobe, Samsung Business,

 

The Buntin Group (Nashville, TN)   July 2008 – August 2015

Group Creative Director

 

  • Launched the first international advertising campaign for RBC Wealth Management, one of the top ten wealth managers in the world.

 

  • Served as creative director and account director for A Life Story Foundation, a pro bono client I secured for the agency. Developed a web content strategy for the foundation that included a series of long-form videos I directed. The videos provided viewers with a new perspective on the lives of ALS sufferers. The video I created about Pete Frates, one of the founders of the Ice Bucket Challenge, has been viewed more than 250,000 times on YouTube and featured in stories by ESPN, The New York Times and The Today Show.

 

  • Oversaw the creation of ground-breaking ideas across multiple channels including television, print, point of service, interactive and social media.

 

  • Created and protected the brand voice of clients both large and small including RBC Bank, RBC Capitol Markets, RBC Wealth Management, Kirkland’s Home

 

Leo Burnett (Chicago, IL)   March 1998 – January 2008

Copywriter/Associate Creative Director/Creative Director

 

  • Resurrected the Rice Krispies brand with the creation of the campaign. Developed the creative strategy and created television, print, web game and musical collaboration with children’s artist Ralph’s World. The campaign increased base sales by 7.5%, outperformed the category by 10x and overtook the category leader, Cheerios, in sales growth.

 

  • Created the Special K Two-Week Challenge, which included television, print, web and targeted media placement in bridal boutiques, gyms and doctors’ offices. The campaign exceeded all sales goals, increasing dollar sales by 11% and making Special K the number one brand among adult cereals.

 

  • Added another chapter in McDonald’s storied history of iconic advertising with the Boombox Kid. What started out as a 15-second Happy Meal assignment became a 60-second spot featured on the Emmys, turned into a viral sensation that resulted in copycat videos on YouTube and included a guest appearance on Oprah for the actor who danced his way through lunch.

 

  • Conceptualized and produced a 60-second television commercial for the introduction of DS games that broke all sales goals. Within two weeks of the games’ release, more copies were sold than there were DS units to play them on before launch.

 

  • Led the agency’s creative work for numerous clients including McDonald’s of Chicago and Northwest Indiana, McDonald’s of Boston and Maine, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies and Kellogg’s Special K.

 

  • Produced award-winning, brand-building work for a long list of Burnett clients including the brands listed above, as well as Samsung, Kellogg’s Pop Tarts, Nintendo, ABC, Disney and Delta Airlines.

 

TBWA Chiat/Day (St. Louis, IL)   May 1997 – February 1998

Copywriter

 

  • Conceived and wrote copy for television, print and radio executions for clients including St. Louis Tourism, Union Electric and the Riverport Casino Center.

 

  • Assisted in new business pitches for TBWA Worldwide offices in Amsterdam, San Francisco and Los Angeles, where I was part of the team that won the Levi’s business.
